The Primrose Path

We have a magical place we can go to get our nature fix. I hope we can make a regular trip of it, watching the seasons change and letting our boys really experience nature.
Today we got to walk down a path literally carpeted with primroses, so many that you were stepping on them accidentally. The beauty of this place is breathtaking, there are natural hedgerows and no cars for miles and no buildings, or planned planted areas, just a wild, wild wood turning into a spring palace.
We startled pheasants who rose, cawing, to flap away with red-brown wings. We heard blue-tits chirrup flitting from tree to tree. Hoverflies buzzed around our heads, bumblebees visited violets. All of nature seemed pulsatingly near, welcoming us city-dwellers and inviting us to take part.

A lovely comment makes my day, please feel free to share your experences here so others can learn from you. If you don't agree with me about something, that's fine, I'm "mom enough" (thanks Time magazine for that one) to take constructive criticism, and welcome healthy debates, heck, I thrive on 'em! But if you leave a snivellingly mean, anonymous comment akin to a school bully putting a note in a locker, beware, it will fall into oblivion, and not change a single thing I do/think. That is all.
